Who Are We?
Melissa Cochrane is the face behind MD Pro Bookkeeping. Having worked as the bookkeeper of the family business for several years, in 2012 Melissa started MDPro Bookkeeping and began taking on new clients. In addition, Melissa has experience in inventory management, database maintenance and a PMAC Certificate in Purchasing.

Who Are You?
Our clients come to us with a range of needs:
- Some clients come to us quarterly or annually with a bag or shoebox of receipts and statements. We will organize the financials, calculate the necessary government remittances (HST, payroll liabilities, WSIB etc…) and provide them with insight about where their business is at. We will also help establish best practises for keeping their records/receipt organized.
- Some clients are very organized, they know exactly what’s going on with their busines, but they just don’t have the time to dedicate to the upkeep of the financial aspects of the business. We provide the skills and expertise to take care of the day to day activities so the business owner can focus on growing the business.
- We provide bookkeeping services to several Non-profit organizations. These are often run by a board of directors made up of volunteers. Depending on the organization, the day to day bookkeeping activities may exceed the scope and/or the time that these volunteers have. Especially when there is payroll and remittance to government involved. In these situations, hiring a bookkeeper becomes a vialble options that creates a long-term stability that an revolving board cannot offer.
- Some clients want to be in the driver seat but just need a bit of “Driver’s Ed.” We can advise on the appropriate accounting software to fit the business needs, help set-up your business on that software and teach you how to use it. We will provide ongoing support until you are comfortable to do it on your own.
